blackThe Black Ark Psychedelick Soul and Jazz Revue is a post dada/fluxus art movement committed to reinterpreting the codes and messages left from as far back as the late 50’s and early 60’s beat/pop/surreal/psychedelic scenes and all those left in it’s wake. The Black Ark P.S.J.R. collective has taken these long living movements into very careful consideration and now continues a “piecing together” of the notes and messages left behind, those once considered to be only that which the public opinion labeled as “art”. This music is the sifting and brewing of a rather large collection of the influences and inspirational works left behind and hopefully, from those left long after this collectives’ works are finalized, (if finalized at all for that matter). In respect to the art form itself, we at The Black Ark P.S.J.R. Collective have taken an oath that the works we have brought to this medium be taken at the weight of these parts, and that our names not be exposed or waved in the forefront of the Internet world. In this day and age, the accessibility of information has become a powerful surge that washes far past any village, over any surveillance, far beyond the entirety of all galaxies far beyond. The Black Ark P.S.J.R. Collective wish to make attempts to go against the grain of the 15 minutes theory and hopefully bring the art form back to the frontlines. The works, in all forms, that are presented here, are works created by very serious artists. These are the works created by audiophile/blue collar cultural archeologists who love the craft. The following audio art interpretations were slowly sifted through and materialized throughout the span of fall 2008 and into the first quarter of 2009.  Some of these tracks are the very first translations into sound,thus becoming the mile marker for many of the pieces that followed. This collection marks the very first chapter of the BAPSJR collective.  In the process of creating these audio pieces, it became important that the material was able to create a visual world that the pieces resided within.
Many of the titles for these pieces were not finalized in any way and most of which were created to simply act as a “shade of color”.  With repeated listenings, one will discover in some instances, the titles may refer directly to a particular theme or idea that is embedded within the different audio pieces.
One of the major factors and goals with this first batch of experiments was in obtaining the highest quality of sound possible,as much low end as is possible and to find the perfect formula that would act as the basic recipe for any and all audio creations that will continue to follow.
Pne important ingredient that may be found immediately in the listening of these tracks is the use of dub.we at the BAPSJR collective have made an oath that any and almost all of the transmissions materialized would benefit with the dub treatment and in almost all pieces, that treatment is fully embraced with much care and respect.
This archive collection is the beginning of a conversation that,with time, has been interpreted amongst our collective and brought forth for others to experience.
the sound is only half the battle. What happens in the mines of our souls and minds will be unearthed through a long process and what acts as fuel will be used to continue the ignition of the flame of creativity.

    At last I had peaceful time enough to listen to Volume One. Awesome stuff and very good and professional overall sound. Fitted extremely well side to side with my Jack Dangers / Meat Beat Manifesto records.
